【NSTM’s collections】Sunspot Observation Instrument

There are 2 ways for sunspot observation：direct visualization and projection method.  In 1967, this machine was set to observe sunspot by the Research Institute of Radio Wave, Ministry of Transportation and Communications in Taoyuan. Its principle was to set projection board on the eyepiece of telescope to observe the image of sun in order to know the amount or square measure of sunspot. By predicting the situation of sun ionosphere caused by solar activities, the communication quality of short waves can be monitored.
