【NSTM’s collections】Automatic Photographic Typewriter

Chinese typesetting was in its most popular era from 1977 to 1987. This product was made by Morisawa Company, Japan.  In 1981, Nikkei Company released a new kind of automatic Chinese typewriter to improve the quality.  It used photo typesetting of which sizes can be adjusted freely to make book titles with fonts imported from Japan.  Although the typesetting of Chinese typewriter was cheap, it could not easily be corrected.  Hence, it was replaced by computer typesetting machines which have the function of memory storage.
