Description
The National Science and Technology Museum has been bringing you explorations of technology and science education. In the last year, we hosted the Calligraphy of Liu Cheng-Dan and Collection of Qing Dynasty Stationery and this event brought the Museum a step forward into a different realm. Now, the National Museum of Science and Technology is repositioned to bring you education in technology as well as humanity. Therefore, in April, we invited Kaohsiung City Seal Carving Society to bring you the Flairs in a Square- Stones and Calligraphy in Seals exhibition, showcasing the craft of stone carving and the exquisite craftsmanship in the art of carved calligraphy.

Seal carving is seen as an exception of the minority arts. Even though the craft is not mainstream, it is closely related to everybody's life. In addition to its practical use as a signature, the artistic value and craft skills in it goes far beyond to express the emotions, personalities, thoughts, aesthetics, and down to the makers' artistic training.

The Kaohsiung City Seal Carving Society, established in June 1998, is now in its eighth year in research, creative work, promotion, and education. The National Science and Technology Museum invited the artists of this institution to exhibit over 200 stone carving works and over 70 stamp arts. The old adage says that sharing something is more fun than enjoying it alone, so we sincerely invite you to share the fun with us in the art of calligraphy carving. And don't forget to leave a comment of support at the first floor on your way out.
