Description
Life is presented in many forms and the Earth may be the only planet that has life. In the grassland, sky, the dry desert, and even the frozen ice, life is active in many ways. Even a small drop of dew contains an ecology within. The biosphere contains a multi-layer and highly diversified biological system. For a long time, mankind has enjoyed the benefits and services facilitated by the biodiversity, yet the "most intelligent being of all "- mankind cannot live without depending on other beings. Be it natural or manmade, the diversified genes, species, habitats, and natural phenomena are closely connected to all beings in the universe.
However, biodiversity is now extinguishing at a rate of hundreds and thousands of times due to the increasing consumption of resources by the increasing population on Earth, more and more serious pollutions, global warming, and introduction of foreign species into non-native lands. The crisis of biodiversity is now a fact to be faced by the whole human race. The Biodiversity and Human Exhibition, organized by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs and co-organized by the National Science and Technology Museum and the French Institute in Taipei, has been on a road show to Geneva, Stockholm, and Brussels and it is now coming to Kaohsiung. The theme of this exhibition centers on ten subjects relating to the connection between bio-organisms and human, which aims to bring people to know the crises of biodiversity and convey the concept of protecting natural heritage and the lives co-existing with us in the world. It intends to send out the message that it is possible for mankind to live in harmony with the nature while pursuing industrial development.

The “Biodiversity and Human” Exhibition, organized by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs and co-organized by the Fondation Nicolas Hulot pour la Nature et l'Homme and Noa Association for Environmental Protection, has been on a road show to Geneva, Stockholm, and Brussels. The ten issues include "Death and Survival", "Protection", "Food Chain", "Health", "Fishery", "Forest", "Tourism, "Fresh Water", "Climate", and "Society" and established the close relationship between biodiversity and the lives of mankind. Especially, when mankind is now facing the challenges of sustainable development, protecting biodiversity means protecting the diversity of our cultures, and pursuing protection of the environment and biodiversity will ensure that mankind enjoys progress in society as well as balance in the economy.
