Description
The Open Storage vault was opened on September 7, 2010, making the collection and preservation of cultural artifacts a “visible collection.” The public can understand the scientific research data of the artifacts, share the results of collection research, explore the mysteries of the collection resources, and enjoy the fun of learning.
Concrete demonstration of the contemporary museum’s concept of “being close to the people”: Through the Open Storage, the long-hidden collections are transformed into a space where the public can experience and study the collections up close, allowing the public to see the various methods of preservation.
Stimulation of public interest in science: With the museum’s goal of collection and researching technological objects that are important to the development of Taiwan’s industry, the “visible collection” allows the public to witness the process of collection and research. It also helps to develop parent-child education through museum visits, jointly experience the behind-the-scene work, and cultivate children’s interest in science and the ability to think scientifically from an early age.
All visitors who are interested in the preservation and maintenance of artifacts.
The exhibition hall holds workshops on the preservation and maintenance of artifacts, collection promotion and other activities from time to time.
