Good Meal Time on Eatrh

To increase interest among younger generations to join environmental education, Taiwan Institute for Sustainable Energy (TAISE) has been hosting the Climate Change Painting Competition for 12 years since 2009. This year, the painting competition theme is “Good Mealtime on Earth,” which stands for the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): SDG 2 (Zero Hunger), SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), and SDG 13 (Climate Action). The event is to raise public awareness of food issues, and young and adult participants will discuss the topics of recycled tableware and how to support local farmers.   All awarded artworks in domestic group will be exhibited in the MRT Zhongxiao Fuxing station and the National Science and Technology Museum. We expect that the younger generation’s artworks will present their deep concerns and actions on climate change to the public.   The Climate Change Painting Competition is co-supervised by the Ministry of Education, the Environmental Protection Administration, and the Council of Agriculture, Executive Yuan.

More than 60 dioramas of Japanese and Taiwanese daily life on display at “Life in Miniature Exhibition” in Kaohsiung Miniature artists Hank Cheng from Taiwan and Takuji Yamada from Japan have teamed up to create a delightful art exhibit showcasing their works. The artists have created over 60 dioramas depicting life in Taiwan and Japan, from the city streets to people’s daily life. The intricate detail of their works will surprise and delight visitors, who are certain to recognize details of the miniature scenes. In addition to scenes of life in the modern era, there are also historical dioramas depicting Taiwan and Japan as they were during different decades of the 20th century.   Hank Cheng has created some amazing pieces inspired by Taiwan’s streetscapes, traditional general stores and his own childhood memories. He is known for using common household items and waste materials to create tiny versions that look as though they have really been used within his miniature world. Yamada, who grew up during Japan’s Showa era, was inspired by many scenes from his youth, like heading off to school in the winter or spending time at home with his family. He excels at crafting scenes of people interacting and displaying realistic emotions. Agronomy Wonderland .Intelligent Agricultural Machinery(農藝其境 智慧農機 技職體驗)

This exhibition is closed since 16th September 2021 for elevator engineering and renewing. The geological and climatic conditions in Taiwan are well-suited to agricultural development. However, in the face of current trends, the most pressing question is how can we apply technology to develop agriculture in response to the challenges posed by a declining population of farmers and changes in the global environment?   To promote technical and vocational education in agriculture, the Department of Biomechatronics Engineering at National Pingtung University of Science and Technology collaborated with the National Science and Technology Museum. They combined theory with practice in the field of intelligent agricultural machinery. Their efforts were aimed at developing talent in this field.
