Clothing Textile Technology Exploration Hall(衣技織長)

Clothing Textile Technology Exploration Hall(衣技織長)

This exhibition aims to establish Taiwan’s only exclusive space for showcasing textile science and technology, highlighting Taiwan textile industry’s achievements in fabric research and development. It extensively presents the evolution of everyday clothing in Taiwan over the past century and introduces new developments in “smart wearable technology,” aligning with its original purpose to keep the public updated on advancements and future trends in fabric technology. From the large needle and thread installation at the entrance, visitors will sense right away that this is a clothing-related exhibition. In December 2025, professional skills introductions will also be integrated to highlight the importance of garment craftsmanship. Upon entering, a projection wall displays an “Intelligent Automated Textile Factory.” Moving further in, the “Timeless closet” showcased clothing from different eras, allowing visitors to understand the evolution of fashion from the Japanese colonial period to the year 2000. Walking through the “Timeless Closet,” visitors can further interact with the figures in the windows to learn about the cultural and historical memories hidden behind the evolution of clothing. In the next textile material area, the public can learn about the types and characteristics of natural and synthetic fibers. The “Smart Wearable Experience Zone” then connects the progress in current textile technology with future development trends. The “Magic Dressing Room” is an interactive experience area where visitors can try on different outfits virtually and save the photos taken. Finally, the “Made in Taiwan” area collaborates with fashion design-related departments of universities in southern Taiwan. The hall’s dazzling stage showcases featured clothing design exhibitions on a regular basis, enlivening the atmosphere of the hall. This exhibition is suitable for families and groups of elementary school students in the third grade and above.
